Massage therapy is defined as the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of normalizing those tissues and consists of manual techniques that include applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, and/or causing movement of or to the body.
Massage therapy has a number of documented clinical benefits, including reduced anxiety, improved pulmonary function in young asthma patients, reduced psycho-emotional distress in persons suffering from chronic inflammatory bowel disease, increased weight and improved motor development in premature infants, and may even enhance immune system functioning.
Medical conditions that massage therapy can be helped by massage therapy are: allergies, anxiety and stress, arthritis, asthma and bronchitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive motion injuries, chronic and temporary pain, circulatory problems, depression, digestive disorders, tension headache, insomnia, myofascial pain, sports injuries, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

VAX-D is the industry leader when it comes to non-surgical treatment options for those suffering from chronic low back pain, bulging or herniated discs, and sciatica. It has become a standard of care for chronic spinal pain, and a leading alternative to surgery.
The treatment is safe and cost-effective and produces results without the risks associated with drugs, surgery, injections or anesthesia. VAX-D treatment is backed by years of clinical research studies, and the only back and neck treatment that uses the patented smooth logarithmic curve method to distract the spine.

The Graston Technique® is an innovative and patented instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. Originally developed by athletes, it's changing the way clinicians — including physical and occupational therapists, hand therapists, chiropractors and athletic trainers — and patients view treatment of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.
The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas demonstrating soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Kinesio-Tape was developed over two decades ago by a Japanese chiropractor, Kenzo Kase, D.C. In the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics was when it gained worldwide recognition and popularity.
As a Certified Kinesio-Taping Practitioner (CKTP), Dr. Marc Ott believes that Kinesio-Taping is one of the most effective techniques to treat overuse injuries in athletes today. Kinesio-Tape is fundamentally different from conventional sports tape, which limits range of motion and circulation by restricting movement of the affected muscle and joints.
Kinesio-Tape is highly elastic and when adhered to the skin, it lifts the tissue away from the injured area and fascia, allowing blood to flow properly and alleviate swelling, improving range of motion of the injured muscle & joint, thus facilitating the healing process.

Integrative Physical Medicine, formally known as MaxLife Health and Wellness is proud to be the only provider in the area to offer Digital Motion X-Ray. This innovative imaging technique allows us to see injuries that conventional x-rays can't!

ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, shin splints and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important common trait: they are often a result of overused muscles.
